LIbrary March Programs for Children and Adults

Tax preparation continues in the library business section and will go till April 13. AARP will be available at the library Monday through Thursday and here from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm only.

*Note: Please be sure to have all tax information with you such as photo IDs, Social Security Cards for each dependent you are claiming, and previous tax information. Please remember we do not allow food or drinks in the library.

 

Raise the WOOF in March! All throughout the month of March the library will be having a Library Staff Cutest Animal Contest, Fetch a Good Book Scavenger Hunt, and ways to help the library staff collect items needed for our local furry friends. Patrons can also be entered to WIN $30 in Chamber Bucks! 

 

Teen Book March Madness! Ages 12-18 get entered to win a FREE Basketball with qualifications. Come into the Library at 515 E. Grand Avenue to grab a Book March Madness Bracket located at the reference and circulation desks!

 

Wednesday, March 1

Storytime and Craft 11:00 am

Recommended ages 0–6 will enjoy a fun singing exercise, and then embark on an enchanting storybook read by the Children’s Librarian followed by a unique craft.

 

Thursday, March 2

Origami 101 3:00 pm

This is a come and go event for the entire family to enjoy. All materials will be provided at this FREE event.

 

Monday, March 6

Setting up an Email Account 9:00 am

Library Computer Center

This is a pre-registered class in the Library Computer Center with only 10 patron availability. During this class patrons will get help with setting up an email account. To register please call the library at 767-0345.

 

Wednesday, March 8

Storytime and Craft 11:00 am

Recommended ages 0–6 will enjoy a fun singing exercise, and then embark on an enchanting storybook read by the Children’s Librarian followed by a unique craft. If you have any questions regarding story time please call the library at 767-0345.

 

Saturday, March 11

OKC ZOO “The Tortoise and the Hare” 1:00-2:00 pm

The Oklahoma City Zoo brings this classic fable to life. What makes a tortoise slow? What makes a hare fast? Explore the history behind this timeless story at the Ponca City Library. (Live animals may be present.)

 

Monday, March 13

Computers 101 & Using the Internet 9:00 am

Library Computer Center

This is a pre-registered class with only 10 patron availability. Please pre-register at the Ponca City Library Computer Center, or you can call the library at 767-0345. This class will help introduce the basics of using the computers and basic ways to navigate the internet.

 

Tuesday, March 14

Sewing Circle 2:00-4:00 pm or 6:00-8:00 pm

Learn to crochet at this free event! There will be a 10-12 patron availability. Please pre-register at the reference desk, call 767-0345, or email the library at library@poncacityok.gov. You must be 16 or older to register.

 

Wednesday, March 15

Story time and Craft with Bart the Firefighter Dog! 11:00 am

Recommended ages 0–6 will enjoy a fun singing exercise and then embark on an enchanting storybook read by Gary Wilson and his furry companion, Bart the firefighter dog, followed by a unique craft. If you have any questions regarding story time, please call the library at 767-0345.

 

Saturday, March 18

Brick Builders 1:00 pm

Looking for something to do with the entire family on Saturday? Kids can be creative and use their imagination to create something with toy blocks. Parents can join the fun too!

 

Monday, March 20

Using Google Tools 9:00 am

Library Computer Center

This is a pre-registered class with only 10 patron availability. Please pre-register at the Ponca City Library Computer Center or you can call the library at 767-0345. This class will introduce two Google functions such as Google Drive and Google Calendar.

 

Monday, March 20

Adult Book Club 4:00 pm

Library Board Room

If you love book series! Join other readers for a discussion about the book, The Cold Dish, by Craig Johnson. This is the first novel in the “Longmire Mysteries” book series. For registration you can sign up at the reference desk, or call the reference desk at 767-0345. There are a limited amount of books available that can be picked up at the reference desk.

 

Tuesday, March 21

Teen Writing Circle 3:30–4:30 pm

Teens can enjoy writing short stories and learn about writing! All teens must pre-register at the reference desk or call the library at 767-0345.

During this class patrons can learn what the library offers through its website such as Rosetta Stone, E-Books, and Valueline investing tools.

 

Tuesday, March 28

"Miles to Get Home: Unwanted to Adoption" 6:00–7:00 pm

The journey from Animal Control animals at risk to finding a home states away! This program will be presented by the Ponca City Humane Society.
