1. How can I find out when my residential refuse will be picked up?

Residential refuse is picked up twice a week in Ponca City. The days of pick-up are based upon where you live.

2. What are the refuse collection charges?

• For each single-family residence, including house trailers or mobile homes, the charge will be $21.56 per month; except for those in which the head of the household is sixty five (65) years of age or older, in which event the charge will be $20.71 per month.
• Carryout Service: For each residential unit of any type requiring carryout service, a charge of $10.76 per month, in addition to the regular monthly charge.
• Special Pick Up: Any special pick up for undue accumulation, non-collectible waste or other special pick-ups which are not normally placed in the container and picked up during regular pick up days, shall be subject to a minimum charge of $41.45.
• Grass Clippings: A special pick up charge for grass clippings is $8.30 minimum or $0.82 per bag, whichever is greater.
• Privately Owned Containers: For each business establishment for which a service is provided without a city owned container, a charge of $36.45 per month for solid waste service.

3. What are the charges on City-provided containers?

A.  Businesses: Monthly charges for businesses, commercial establishments and institutions for which the city provides the containers shall be as follows:

B. Outside City Limits Fuel Surcharge: Additionally, a fuel surcharge is imposed on container accounts that are located outside the city limits. The surcharges are:

(1) Two (2) to five (5) miles outside city limits, add $13.16 per pull in addition to base container rate;

(2) Over five (5) to ten (10) miles outside city limits, add $34.36 per pull in addition to base container rate;

(3) Over ten (10) to fifteen (15) miles outside city limits, add $55.82 per pull in addition to base container rate;

(4) Over fifteen (15) to twenty (20) miles outside city limits, add $77.29 per pull in addition to base container rate.

4. What are the charges on City-provided containers at special events or special functions?

A.  City Owned Containers: Charges for city owned containers at special events or special functions for which the city provided the service or container shall be as follows:

B.  Setup Fee: A setup fee of $32.52 is established per city-owned container for the transportation to and from the event.

5. What are the charges on Open Top Roll-Off Containers?

The following rates are established for usage of a city owned open top roll-off container:

$189.86 per pull of the container

A minimum of two (2) pulls per month is required or a $193.22 per month container rental will apply.

6. What are the charges on compactor type containers?

A charge of $9.52 per cubic yard, plus $1.25 per ton for the state solid waste landfill fee, plus $189.86 per lift, is hereby established for pick up, hauling and landfill fees for those persons, firms or corporations utilizing compactor type containers. Those persons, firms or corporations utilizing front unloading compactors will be charged an additional $70.15 per pull for the additional handling of containers.

7. Where is the Recycling Center located?

The Recycling Center is located on West Prospect across from the Humane Society and is open Wednesday through Sunday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
