The Ponca City Police Department was established in 1899. There are currently 55 sworn officers and 24 civilian personnel. The Sworn Rank Structure is as follows: Chief, Major, Captain, Lieutenant, Sergeant, Master Patrolman, and Patrolman.

Training Center
The Ponca City Police Department is very proud of its new Training Center at:

Since it was built in 2006, classes have been conducted there not only for our own policemen and women, but for other cities and departments that have sent their officers to attend classes taught in this handsome and very practical facility.

The building also houses a workout and exercise room to help the officers stay in shape. All officers are encouraged to participate in various training opportunities to increase their knowledge and hone their skills for the job.
