The Animal Control Center is easily accessed from Pecan Road, south of Lake Road. The Animal Control staff members work closely with local veterinarians. They also work with local animal shelters and animal welfare groups to find placement for abandoned animals, which in turn reduces the number of animals that would otherwise have to be euthanized.
The Animal Control Center is one of the first stops that should be made for folks considering adopting a cat or dog. The staff will guide you in obtaining the necessary tags required as well as in understanding the Spay and Neuter Ordinance.
Spay & Neuter Ordinance
The Spay and Neuter Ordinance for dogs and cats went into effect June 9, 2009. This ordinance was adopted in response to significant community support for responsible pet owners. The goal of this Ordinance is to reduce the number of stray, unwanted, and hungry animals in Ponca City, which will in turn reduce the number of animal attacks by providing a safe community for all citizens and pets.
Animal Control has many animals available for adoption. Save a life and adopt a pet.
