Divisions of Police Department

Patrol Division

The most visible aspect of the Police Department, the Patrol Officers, are on the streets of Ponca City day in and day out, helping to maintain peace and deter crime. The Ponca City Police Department maintains a fleet of over 50 vehicles to assist in various aspects of patrol and public safety. 
      

Motorcycle Patrol

The officers main function is traffic safety.  There are two motorcycles
      

 Bicycle Patrol-

The Officers are trained and equipped to work efficiently and practically                        during parades and other events where a motorized vehicle would not be the best choice. The                Bicycle Patrol also attends special community events to promote bicycle safety.

Detectives Division

The Ponca City Police Detectives Division includes men and women trained and dedicated to investigate and solve crime, to seek out clues, and to work together to unravel difficult cases. 
         

Special Projects Unit

The Special Projects Unit is a unique task force of officers who
         deal with the most difficult and prevalent crimes facing our community, such as narcotics
         and other high profile crimes. The SPU officers also seek out felons for whom warrants
         have been issued. 


Records Division


The Records Division houses thousands of criminal case and traffic accident files with millions of facts necessary to accurately reflect the activity of the Department. Modern technology will reduce the quantity of paper files while improving efficiency in handling and accessing needed information. Records Request.

Tactical Team

Tough and highly trained, officers of the Tactical Team are equipped to deal calmly and effectively in even the most difficult of circumstances; with specialized weaponry and equipment, the Tactical Team comprises a powerful crime-fighting force for the protection of the citizens of Ponca City. Regular physical fitness exercises and practical training scenarios prepare this team for responding to high risk incidents.
